Windrose Speedrun Guide - Fastest Story Completion

Speedrun Overview

This guide covers the fastest route to complete Windrose's main story. Estimated time: 4-6 hours for experienced players.

Phase 1: Starting Island (0-30 min)

Objectives

• Talk to Old Salt for fishing rod
• Fish 20 fish for starting gold (5 min)
• Mine 10 Copper Ore, smelt to ingots
• Craft Copper Sword
• Buy 1 rumor from Tavern Keeper
• SKIP: Wood chopping (buy planks instead)

Phase 2: First Boss (30-60 min)

Captain Richards

• Buy 3 Health Potions (30 Gold)
• Approach from east side of island
• Dodge his charge attack, hit 3x during recovery
• Takes ~2 minutes with Copper Sword
• Reward: Brig unlock, 50 Gold

Phase 3: Rush to Freeport (60-90 min)

Trade Route

• Sail to Shattered Isles
• Mine Iron Ore (10 min)
• Sail to Freeport
• Sell fish + iron for 200+ Gold
• Buy Cutter (100 Gold) for speed
• Buy Iron Cutlass blueprint

Phase 4: Cursed Swamps (90-150 min)

Swamp Rush

• Sail to Cursed Swamps
• Buy 5 Antidotes first
• Fight Soul Eater - use Silver Saber if available
• Defeat High Priestess
• SKIP: All side quests in the swamp
• Loot: Silver Ore, 500 Gold

Phase 5: Pirate King's Legacy (150-240 min)

Fragment Rush

• F1: Starting Island cave (10 min)
• F2: Already have from Soul Eater
• F3: Ship Graveyard wreck (15 min)
• F4: Ashlands volcanic cave (30 min)
• F5: Ghost Captain storm encounter (20 min, RNG dependent)

Phase 6: Final Boss (240-300 min)

Pirate King's Legacy

• Combine fragments at the ancient altar
• Defeat the Pirate King's ghost
• Claim Pirate King's Cutlass and Pirate King's Set

Time-Saving Tips

Skip non-essential NPCs - only talk to quest-givers
Buy materials instead of gathering when possible
Use Sloop until Brig - speed saves more time than combat ability
Don't explore - follow the route exactly
Save before bosses - reload on death
