Windrose All Bosses Weak Spots and Loot Guide 2026

Updated: 2026-08-134 sections
Last updated:

Windrose features 10 unique boss encounters spread across its open world, each tied to a specific region and storyline. Bosses are the primary source of rare blueprints, unique accessories, and high-level gear, making them essential targets for endgame progression. This guide covers all 10 bosses, their weak spots, recommended levels, and complete loot tables.

Bosses are divided into three tiers: world bosses (level 15-25), regional bosses (level 25-35), and endgame bosses (level 35-45). World bosses are accessible early and drop mid-tier gear. Regional bosses require storyline progression and drop rare blueprints. Endgame bosses are the most challenging encounters in the game and drop the best items available.

Each boss has a specific elemental weakness and a physical weak spot. Exploiting the elemental weakness increases damage by 50 to 100 percent, and hitting the physical weak spot deals critical damage with a 2x multiplier. Knowing both is essential for efficient boss farming, as it can reduce kill times by 50 percent or more.

All bosses have a weekly lockout, meaning you can only loot each boss once per week per character. The lockout resets every Tuesday at 9:00 AM UTC. Plan your weekly farming route to maximize loot acquisition, prioritizing bosses whose drops you need most. A full weekly clear of all 10 bosses takes approximately 4 to 6 hours with an optimized route.

World Bosses: Weak Spots and Strategies

Swamp Lurker (Level 15). This giant amphibious creature dwells in the shallow waters of the Cursed Swamps entrance. Its weak spot is the glowing sac on its underside, which is exposed when it rears up to attack. Hit the sac with piercing weapons for 2x damage. Its elemental weakness is fire. The Swamp Lurker drops the Cursed Key (required for the High Priestess questline), 100 gold, and a random uncommon item.

Ironjaw the Crusher (Level 20). A massive rock golem found in the deepest chamber of the Ironport Mines. Its weak spot is the crack in its chest, visible when it raises its arms for a slam attack. Hit the crack with blunt weapons for 2x damage. Its elemental weakness is lightning. Ironjaw drops the advanced smelter blueprint (required for refined steel), 200 gold, and a random rare item.

Storm Caller (Level 25). A winged elemental perched atop Stormhold Peak. Its weak spot is the crystal on its forehead, which glows before each lightning attack. Hit the crystal with ranged weapons for 2x damage. Its elemental weakness is earth. The Storm Caller drops the reinforced sails blueprint, 300 gold, and a random rare item. This fight requires constant movement to avoid lightning strikes that cover the entire arena.

World bosses are designed for solo players or small groups and serve as an introduction to boss mechanics. Practice your dodging, learn attack telegraphs, and experiment with elemental weaknesses on these encounters before tackling the harder regional and endgame bosses. The blueprints dropped by world bosses are essential for mid-game progression, so prioritize them early.

Each world boss takes approximately 5 to 10 minutes to defeat at the recommended level with appropriate elemental weapons. Without exploiting weaknesses, kill times double to 10 to 20 minutes, which significantly increases the risk of running out of healing potions. Always bring the correct elemental weapon to minimize fight duration.

  • Swamp Lurker: hit glowing sac, use fire
  • Ironjaw: hit chest crack, use lightning
  • Storm Caller: hit forehead crystal, use earth
  • Bring correct elemental weapon for 2x damage
  • Weekly lockout resets Tuesday 9 AM UTC

Regional Bosses: Weak Spots and Strategies

Captain Blackwood (Level 28). A ghost pirate captain found aboard his cursed galleon in Shipwreck Bay. This is a naval combat boss, fought from your ship rather than on foot. His weak spot is the cursed lantern on the ship's mast, which you must hit with cannon fire for 2x damage. His elemental weakness is fire cannonballs. Blackwood drops the elite gunner crew recruitment letter, 400 gold, and a random rare item.

The Kraken (Level 30). A massive sea monster encountered randomly in the Deep Ocean when sailing with valuable cargo. Its weak spots are its eyes, which surface briefly before each tentacle attack. Hit the eyes with cannon fire for 2x damage. Its elemental weakness is fire. The Kraken drops the kraken hide (used to craft the best armor in the game), 500 gold, and 2 random rare items.

High Priestess (Level 35). Covered in detail in our dedicated High Priestess guide. Weak spot is her floating crown, which descends during teleport recovery in phase 3. Hit the crown with any weapon for 2x damage. Elemental weakness is fire. She drops the Cursed Amulet, the lightweight hull blueprint (50 percent drop rate), 500 gold, and 2 random rare items.

Regional bosses require specific preparation. Captain Blackwood demands a well-armed ship with at least 8 cannons and fire cannonballs. The Kraken requires a durable hull and quick repair capabilities, as its tentacle attacks deal massive structural damage. The High Priestess requires fire weapons, stun abilities, and antidotes for her poison attacks.

Regional boss encounters take 10 to 20 minutes each and are significantly harder than world bosses. Consider tackling them in co-op with 2 to 4 players, which makes the encounters more manageable and allows for role specialization. In co-op, assign one player to healing and support while the others focus on damage and weak spot targeting.

Endgame Bosses: Weak Spots and Strategies

Forsaken King (Level 38). An undead monarch in the throne room of the Lost Citadel. His weak spot is the glowing gem in his crown, exposed when he casts his summon spell. Hit the gem with holy weapons for 2x damage. His elemental weakness is holy. The Forsaken King drops the royal broadsword (one of the best melee weapons in the game), 800 gold, and 3 random rare items. This fight has four phases and takes 15 to 25 minutes.

Leviathan (Level 40). The largest boss in Windrose, a sea serpent encountered in the deepest waters of the Deep Ocean. Fought from ship like the Kraken but on a much larger scale. Its weak spots are the glowing vents along its body, which steam before each breath attack. Hit the vents with cannon fire for 2x damage. Its elemental weakness is ice. The Leviathan drops the leviathan scale (crafting material for the best ship hull), 1,000 gold, and 3 random rare items.

The Tempest (Level 42). A living storm encountered inside the Storm Vortex, a permanent whirlpool on the map. This is a unique fight where you battle wind and lightning itself, with no physical body to attack. Its weak spot is the eye of the storm, which appears every 30 seconds. Hit the eye with any projectile for 2x damage. Its elemental weakness is earth. The Tempest drops the tempest core (used to craft the best cannon in the game), 1,200 gold, and 3 random rare items.

Ashbringer (Level 45). The final boss of the Ashlands update, a fire elemental of immense power. Its weak spot is the heart of flame in its chest, which is always visible but protected by a fire shield that must be broken with ice attacks first. Hit the heart with ice weapons for 2x damage after breaking the shield. Its elemental weakness is ice. Ashbringer drops the phoenix feather (revives you once per day on death), 1,500 gold, and 4 random rare items.

Endgame bosses are designed for parties of 4 players at level 40 or higher. Attempting them solo is possible but extremely difficult and time-consuming, with kill times of 30 to 45 minutes compared to 10 to 15 minutes in a full party. Always bring the correct elemental weapon, full healing supplies, and consumables specific to each fight, such as ice bombs for Ashbringer or holy water for the Forsaken King.

  • Forsaken King: hit crown gem, use holy
  • Leviathan: hit body vents, use ice
  • The Tempest: hit storm eye, use earth
  • Ashbringer: break shield then hit heart, use ice
  • Designed for 4-player parties at level 40+

Frequently Asked Questions

Windrose has 10 bosses ranging from level 15 to level 45. There are 3 world bosses (levels 15-25), 3 regional bosses (levels 28-35), and 4 endgame bosses (levels 38-45). Each boss has a weekly lockout that resets every Tuesday at 9:00 AM UTC, allowing you to loot each boss once per week per character.

Fire is the most broadly useful element, as 4 out of 10 bosses are weak to fire. For specific encounters, bring holy weapons for the Forsaken King, ice weapons for the Leviathan and Ashbringer, lightning for Ironjaw, and earth for the Storm Caller and The Tempest. Always check the boss's weakness before the fight to halve your kill time.

Soloing endgame bosses is possible but extremely challenging. Kill times range from 30 to 45 minutes solo compared to 10 to 15 minutes in a 4-player party, and the margin for error is much smaller. You need optimal gear, the correct elemental weapon, and a deep understanding of each boss's mechanics. Most players tackle endgame bosses in co-op.

The phoenix feather, dropped by Ashbringer (level 45), is arguably the most valuable item in the game. It revives you once per day upon death, effectively giving you a second life in any encounter. Other highly valuable drops include the royal broadsword from the Forsaken King and the lightweight hull blueprint from the High Priestess, both of which are essential for endgame builds.
