Windrose Dungeons & Raids: Complete Guide to All Instances, Loot & Mechanics

Dungeons and raids in Windrose are the primary source of endgame loot, rare blueprints, and legendary equipment. Each dungeon features a series of encounters culminating in a boss fight with unique mechanics and a dedicated loot table. Raids are larger, multi-boss instances designed for groups of 3-6 players and offer the most powerful rewards in the game. This guide covers every dungeon and raid, including recommended gear levels, boss mechanics, loot tables, and the strategies that make each clear efficient and repeatable.

Bandit Fortress (Foothills)

The Bandit Fortress is the first dungeon most players encounter and serves as an introduction to instanced combat in Windrose. It is located in the eastern Foothills and is accessible after completing the Foothills Outpost quest line.

Layout and Encounters

The fortress consists of three floors. The first two floors contain trash mob encounters with Bandits, Archers, and the occasional Bandit Mage. The third floor houses the boss: the Bandit Lord. Each floor has a rest area before the next set of encounters where you can eat food and repair equipment.

Bandit Lord Boss Mechanics

  • Phase 1 (100%-60% HP): The Bandit Lord fights with a sword and shield combo. He performs a three-hit combo followed by a shield bash stun. Dodge the shield bash by sidestepping when he raises his shield — the telegraph is a 1.5-second wind-up.
  • Phase 2 (60%-30% HP): Two Bandit Archers spawn on the upper balconies. Prioritize killing the archers quickly — their arrows deal significant damage and can interrupt your attacks on the boss. Use a ranged weapon or throw items to hit them.
  • Phase 3 (30%-0% HP): The Bandit Lord enrages, gaining 50% attack speed. His combos become four hits instead of three. Play defensively, dodge his attacks, and punish his recovery frames. A Musket loaded with Steel Shot is effective here for hitting him during his recovery without exposing yourself to melee range.
